There are still some misconceptions on Narcissism in the general public these days. If you try to look up the term narcissism, you'll end up with plenty of content that overall paints a grotesque image of narcissists as people you should avoid at all costs.

They portray narcissists as some sort of evil villains who pray on the weak, try to manipulate and gaslight, are over the top self-centered, in positions of high power and status, looking at other people through lenses of sadistic pleasure.

Hence there are many creators handing out advices on how to avoid narcissists or how to deal (i.e. be vengeful) with the ones in your life.

This image couldn't be farther from the truth.
